Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 Base Salary + Full Benefits Package
About the OpportunityA well-established mechanical contractor in the Kansas City market is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial HVAC and plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is a long-term growth opportunity with a company that has a strong backlog and a reputation for delivering high-quality work.
Position OverviewThe Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of mechanical construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and financial performance. Projects may include commercial, healthcare, industrial, mission-critical, and institutional facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage mechanical construction projects from kickoff through final completion
- Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate with field teams
- Lead subcontractor buyout and contract negotiations
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and scope compliance
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, GCs, engineers, and vendors
- Identify and manage change orders, RFIs, and scope modifications
- Participate in project meetings and provide executive-level reporting
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management
- Background in HVAC, piping, plumbing, hydronics, or sheet metal systems
- Experience managing commercial or industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar PM software
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
- $110K – $130K base salary (DOE)
