About the Role:
Our client, a growing and well-established wealth management firm in the Kansas City area, is seeking a CFP®-licensed Wealth Management Advisor to join their close-knit, 7-person team. This advisor will step into a highly visible role with access to qualified internal referrals and a clear path into the firm’s long-term succession and leadership plan.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced advisor who enjoys owning client relationships, closing business, and delivering sophisticated planning solutions to high-earning professionals and business leaders.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as the lead advisor (“first chair”) for top-tier client relationships, owning strategy, recommendations, and execution
- Deliver comprehensive financial planning and investment advice, including tax-aware strategies, estate planning coordination, and portfolio construction
- Leverage firm-generated referrals while also engaging in selective new business development
- Work with high-income clients (typically $250k+ household income), including executives, business owners, and senior leaders
- Support clients through complex planning needs such as liquidity events, equity compensation, and concentrated stock positions
- Maintain strong compliance, documentation, and fiduciary standards
- Collaborate closely with internal planning and operations teams to deliver a seamless client experience
- Contribute to the firm’s long-term growth, strategy, and succession planning
- Majority of growth comes from internal referrals and existing relationships
- Approximately 15–20% focused on warm outreach within existing networks
- Approximately 25% focused on strategic prospecting with high-level professionals and executives
- Annual production expectations of $100k–$200k in premium and approximately $15M in new AUM
- Series 7 and 66 (or equivalent) required
- 8+ years of experience in a client-facing advisory role
- Proven credibility with sophisticated clients and complex planning scenarios
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
