About the Role:

Our client, a growing and well-established wealth management firm in the Kansas City area, is seeking a CFP®-licensed Wealth Management Advisor to join their close-knit, 7-person team. This advisor will step into a highly visible role with access to qualified internal referrals and a clear path into the firm’s long-term succession and leadership plan.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced advisor who enjoys owning client relationships, closing business, and delivering sophisticated planning solutions to high-earning professionals and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the lead advisor (“first chair”) for top-tier client relationships, owning strategy, recommendations, and execution
  • Deliver comprehensive financial planning and investment advice, including tax-aware strategies, estate planning coordination, and portfolio construction
  • Leverage firm-generated referrals while also engaging in selective new business development
  • Work with high-income clients (typically $250k+ household income), including executives, business owners, and senior leaders
  • Support clients through complex planning needs such as liquidity events, equity compensation, and concentrated stock positions
  • Maintain strong compliance, documentation, and fiduciary standards
  • Collaborate closely with internal planning and operations teams to deliver a seamless client experience
  • Contribute to the firm’s long-term growth, strategy, and succession planning
Business Development Expectations:
  • Majority of growth comes from internal referrals and existing relationships
  • Approximately 15–20% focused on warm outreach within existing networks
  • Approximately 25% focused on strategic prospecting with high-level professionals and executives
  • Annual production expectations of $100k–$200k in premium and approximately $15M in new AUM
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Series 7 and 66 (or equivalent) required
  • 8+ years of experience in a client-facing advisory role
  • Proven credibility with sophisticated clients and complex planning scenarios
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Motivated by long‑term growth, impact, and leadership opportunities
  • Interested in becoming a key contributor to the firm’s future leadership or ownership structure
Why This Role:
  • Warm book of business and consistent internal referrals
  • Clear and realistic path toward partnership or leadership
  • Collaborative, client-first culture with a stable and experienced team
  • Competitive base salary with meaningful upside tied to performance
  • Opportunity to play a long‑term, career‑defining role within the firm
