Morgan Hunter Healthcare is partnering with a highly respected Rural Healthcare System in Northeast Kansas to identify an experienced leader passionate about improving patient outcomes, strengthening systems, and guiding teams through meaningful, sustainable change. This role is ideal for a registered nurse who has grown into quality, risk, or process improvement work and now ready to step into a visible leadership position within a rural healthcare environment.
This is a primarily onsite role based in Northeast Kansas with occasional travel to a second hospital. This is a hands-on, on-site position. Presence is key to success in this position, limited hybrid flexibility could be an option.
About the RoleThe Executive Director of Quality, Risk, & Process Improvement will provide administrative oversight for the organization’s quality, risk management, and performance improvement programs. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader partners closely with facility leadership, clinical teams, and the Board to ensure regulatory readiness and drive process improvement initiatives. The focus will be to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
WhatYou Will Do
- Lead and oversee organization-wide quality, risk, and process improvement programs aligned with strategic goals
- Guide interdisciplinary teams through performance improvement initiatives that support patient safety and operational excellence
- Ensure readiness for accreditation surveys and regulatory requirements
- Partner with senior leadership, medical staff, and frontline teams to promote transparency and collaboration
- Monitor outcomes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement sustainable solutions
- Contribute to a positive, mission-driven organizational culture rooted in continuous improvement
- BSN required (ASN will be considered);
- MHA Master’s in Healthcare Administration is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of quality or clinical experience; 5+ years of quality or performance improvement leadership preferred
- Experience working in or alongside rural healthcare systems preferred
- CPHQ certification is a plus but not required
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence, coach, and guide teams through change
