Resurrection has an opening for a Funeral Coordinator role! This position is part-time, nonexempt and is located at our Leawood campus located at 13720 Roe Avenue.
Job SummaryThe Funeral Coordinator exists to provide compassionate, organized support to families as they prepare for and experience a funeral or memorial service s position is responsible for serving as the family's primary point of contact for the logistical details of the service, coordinating with the officiating pastor, the Funeral Ministry team, funeral homes, and other providers, and leading day-of-service logistics so that families and guests experience exceptional care and hospitality during a tender and important time.

Position-Specific
- Meet with families and the officiating pastor to discuss logistical needs for the funeral or memorial service.
- Serve as the family’s primary contact for service logistics.
- Coordinate details including visitation, family arrival, memorabilia displays, flowers, guest books, reserved seating, receptions, and other family needs.
- Communicate service details and changes with the Funeral Ministry team and other Resurrection staff involved in the service.
- Coordinate with funeral homes and other outside providers as needed.
- Anticipate family needs and help provide a calm, organized experience throughout the planning process.
- Arrive in advance of the service to ensure all spaces are prepared and welcoming.
- Welcome the family upon arrival and serve as their primary logistical contact throughout the day.
- Direct Funeral Assistants serving at the service.
- Oversee the placement of flowers, memorabilia, signage, guest books, tables, chairs, and other service elements.
- Assist with visitation, guest flow, reserved seating, and other hospitality needs.
- Respond calmly and graciously to last-minute changes or unexpected needs.
- Coordinate reception setup and transitions when applicable.
- Ensure family belongings, memorabilia, and flowers are gathered and appropriately handled following the service.
- Oversee cleanup and restoration of spaces before the Funeral Ministry team leaves.
- Guests Come First – Anticipate the needs of families and guests and look for opportunities to serve before being asked.
