Data Analyst
As a Reporting & Website Analyst, you will be integral in evaluating the effectiveness of marketing initiatives through meticulous tracking, analysis, and reporting. Your expertise in database queries, statistical analysis, and data visualization will support the marketing team by providing actionable insights from both internal and external data sources. You will play a key role in campaign optimization by developing hypotheses, designing tests, and analyzing results to guide strategic decisions.
Additionally, you will ensure the integrity and accessibility of marketing and customer data by establishing robust data governance practices. Your collaborative efforts with various stakeholders, including campaign managers and the Ascend BI team, will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of marketing performance and its impact on the business
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Burlington, MA or Leawood, KS office location.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME
- Responsible for tracking, reporting, and analyzing the performance of ongoing marketing activities, ad-hoc analytic requests, and development/automation of regular reports and dashboards in support of the marketing team.
- Analyzes external and internal customer data using database queries (SQL), spreadsheet (Excel) models, web analytics tools (Google Analytics, GA4), statistical analysis tools, and data visualization tools (Power
BI, Tableau, Looker). - Collaborate in developing hypothesis, designing of tests, and analyzing results to inform optimization of campaigns. Communicate results and provide recommendations. Collaborate to develop and maintain overall testing roadmap for marketing.
- Advises other marketing functions (e-commerce/website, online/offline advertising, brand, product development) as the knowledge owner for customer and market data.
- Provide data governance for marketing and customer data in various databases. Clean, organize, sort, and reconcile multiple databases to create a unified record for accounts and contacts to be used in analysis. Establish processes and procedures to assure timeliness, accuracy and integrity of data sources and analysis.
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the quality, performance, and completeness of our database.
- Work closely with campaign and channel managers as well as external media agencies to ensure campaign tracking and seamless data flow.
- Collaborate with the Ascend BI team on the development of holistic analysis and reports that incorporate additional non-marketing data sources.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred in the field of business analytics, data science, or equivalent.
4+ years of work experience in statistical or data analysis (or academic equivalent).
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
A keen ability to identify and solve marketing-related business problems.
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Independent thinker who can work well in a collaborative team environment.
Familiarity with statistical techniques such as multivariate and A/B testing, digital revenue attribution, customer segmentation, and marketing effectiveness.
Experience in building and automating management-level reporting and dashboards.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, Google Analytics, GA4, Power
BI, Tableau, and Data Studio. Proficiency in Google suite and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
