Summary

The Retail Assistant is responsible for maintaining and overseeing a quality-driven, and profitable merchandising operation with golf, racquet, and lifestyle merchandise that is consistent with the preferences, needs, and demographics of the members of Hallbrook Country Club. Tracks, documents, manages, and promotes product sales and implements inventory control. Maximize sales and profitability through the development and implementation of strategies, analysis, and appropriate reactions to sales trends.

Responsibilities
  • Establish a rapport with our members and their guests by providing friendly, attentive service and actively assisting them with all their retail needs.
  • Assists with the development of buying plans and all merchandise-related purchasing.
  • Assists the Buyer/Merchandiser to develop and execute general and seasonal merchandise plans, visual presentation guidelines, and pricing strategies.
  • Assists the Buyer/Merchandiser to conduct accurate and timely physical inventory counts.
  • Assist Buyer/Merchandiser in assorting and preparing new merchandise for the golf shop.
  • Maintain, rotate and change displays with an exceptional appearance.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy golf shop including dusting, vacuuming, and sweeping as needed.
  • Assist members with booking reservations in the golf shop, answering phone calls, and maintaining duties at the front counter.
  • Develop short- and long-range sales marketing plans supporting departmental goals, directions, and priorities.
  • Maintains product documentation from purchase to sale, including purchase orders, receiving records, invoice validation/payment, inventory records, and special-order records to document merchandise history.
  • Promote a first-class member shopping environment to include gift-wrapping, shipping and other services.
  • Stay in tune with all fashion industry trends.
  • Provide golfer support and assist with tee time, lesson and event reservations.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image.
  • Be informed of and promote all Club activities, programs and events.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completion or pursuit of a Merchandising, Fashion, Retail, or Textiles degree
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule which includes working on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • A proven track-record of providing superior customer service
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills and outgoing personality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and experience using a POS system is preferred
  • Experience in golf environment preferred but not required
  • Predictable and reliable attendance is required.
Physical & Environmental Demands
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
  • Must be able to walk frequently; must be able to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and use controls, tools, and general office/rec/tennis equipment.
  • This position may require an individual to work holidays and weekends.
