Director of Sales

Hilton Garden Inn Overland Park is looking for an energetic, relationship-focused Director of Sales to drive occupancy, increase market share, and help position our hotel as the preferred choice for business and leisure travelers in the Kansas City metro area.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality sales professional who enjoys building lasting client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and developing creative sales strategies that deliver measurable results. Working closely with the General Manager and regional leadership, you'll play a key role in shaping the hotel's continued success while representing a trusted Hilton brand.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans that achieve occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Generate new business while maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
  • Actively sell guest rooms, meeting space, and food & beverage opportunities.
  • Conduct outside sales calls throughout the local market to build new partnerships and strengthen existing accounts.
  • Create and implement the hotel's annual marketing plan and quarterly action plans.
  • Research market trends, demand generators, and competitive activity to identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor booking patterns, market demand, seasonal trends, and local events to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Recommend group pricing strategies and establish group rate parameters.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, room block agreements, and sales correspondence for prospective clients.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity records, reports, and production tracking.
  • Manage third-party internet accounts to maximize market share, online visibility, and competitive positioning.
  • Represent the hotel through community organizations, networking events, and local business associations.
  • Collaborate with Front Desk leadership to ensure accurate group reservations, rate loading, and reporting.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the Hilton brand, hotel amenities, local market, and competitive landscape.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong relationship-building, networking, and business development skills.
  • Proven ability to generate new business while growing existing accounts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience creating sales plans, forecasting, and analyzing production reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems.
  • A customer-focused mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work some evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel as business needs require.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous hotel sales or hospitality sales experience required.
