The Russell County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking applicants for the position of Correctional Officer. Russell County is located along I-70 in Western Kansas. Encompassing more than 900 square miles, Russell County is home to 7 small communities and one of the largest recreational lakes in the state.

SALARY:
Starting pay with no experience is $16.50 per hour.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
- Must be able to pass the applicant testing, background investigation, psychological exam and drug screening.
- Must be open to scheduling flexibility (must have the ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays)
- Must possess a Kansas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment.
- Applicants must be of good moral character with no felony, or serious misdemeanor convictions.
Russell County offers medical insurance through Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Freedom Claims Management INC. Retirement is KPERS.
