We have a great opportunity for a full-time Payroll Supervisor at our HQ in Lebanon, IN.
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for supervising all payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while providing leadership to the payroll function. This position oversees payroll reporting, manages payroll-related audits, and supports general accounting functions.
Relocation is not available for this position. Applicants should reside within driving distance of Lebanon, IN. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION
Payroll Administration- Supervise the day-to-day payroll function and Payroll Specialist.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll for all employees.
- Review and approve payroll transactions, including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and direct deposits.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Coordinate payroll tax reporting and year-end processing, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries.
- Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports for management, Accounting, Human Resources, and external agencies.
- Coordinate and manage payroll-related audits, including: 401(k) plan audits, workers' compensation audits, internal payroll audits, external financial audits
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with legal and company requirements.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting payroll compliance.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll and benefit accruals.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
- Assist with account reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives within the Accounting department.
- Assume additional accounting responsibilities as assigned to support departmental operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of payroll administration experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience administering payroll for a multi-state employer preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
