As a Safety Coordinator, your key responsibility will be to manage and enforce Freitag's Safety Program for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage. By using and enforcing job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Freitag's safety program, you will ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident-free project.
- Education
- Conduct weekly 'Toolbox Safety Meeting' and document content and attendance.
- Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
- Advise project staff on site specific safety issues/guidelines.
- Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.
- Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as Freitag company policies and owner/contractual requirements.
- Conduct daily and/or weekly job site inspections (as appropriate or specified by job).
- Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
- Investigate, corroborate, document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
- Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.

- Thorough knowledge of construction methods and OSHA standards.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- 5+ years safety experience in construction or similar industry.
- Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows.
- Extended travel on occasion and/or temporary, periodic relocation may be necessary.
