Summary
Meta is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager to become a vital member of our Data Center Design, Engineering & Construction team. Our data centers serve as the backbone of our rapidly expanding infrastructure and innovative services. Ensuring that we build and operate data centers in the most efficient manner leads to superior uptime, optimal capacity availability, and effective capital conservation.
The engineering team focuses on every detail, from chips to chillers, ensuring configurations that maximize the efficiency of our compute infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities Be responsible for managing the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Data Center within a campus program.Oversee the budget linked to the project.Manage changes in project costs and negotiate competitive pricing.Maintain the project schedule and identify associated risks to guarantee dependable turnover dates.Handle warranty and tenant improvement work in the live environment as necessary.Provide regular updates regarding project status and risks to upper management.Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as required.Proactively manage project risks through careful planning and collaboration.Identify and implement cost‑saving solutions early in the project.Develop collaborative relationships with General Contractors and other Vendors.Work closely with Internal Cross‑Functional Partners to ensure synergy.Coordinate project needs with the Procurement/Sourcing groups.Assist in pre‑construction planning for upcoming projects.Advocate for prefabrication strategies.Support the development of Capital Project Budgets and Construction ROMs.Collaborate with the Campus Construction Manager to oversee the campus‑wide book of work, including contractor, designer, and vendor management.Ensure a smooth on‑site inspection process, targeting zero punch‑list items and swift handover to Facilities Operations.Assist the Regional Construction Operations Manager with managing the regional book of work.Support the local Data Center Operations team and other departments as necessary.Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and open communication.Lead and support our industry‑leading safety program.Promote a culture of constructive feedback and growth.Be prepared for approximately 10% travel to our headquarters and other Meta sites.Respond to emergencies as required.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent experience.12+ years of experience in construction management.Experience managing multiple large‑scale construction projects, particularly mission‑critical and infrastructure projects.General understanding of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems.Proficiency in capital budget management and contract administration.Strong negotiation skills and the ability to devise effective solutions.Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations including fire protection.Knowledge of LEAN construction practices.Experience using Primavera P6.Proficiency with Procore and eBuilder software.Experience with BIM 360 and Bluebeam software.Familiarity with MS Visio and SharePoint.Building Environment Certifications (LEED, SITES, TRUE, WELL) are a plus.Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance workflows and achieve significant improvements in efficiency and quality.Experience with responsible AI practices and risk assessments.Continuous professional development in AI technologies.Public Compensation
$150,000/year to $209,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
