Location: Lebanon, IN
Duration: 1-2 Years (Start: 8/17)
Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation & SchedulePay Rate: $56/hr
Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 8-10 Hour Days

The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with heavy equipment operators, craft personnel, and project supervision to identify hazards, ensure OSHA compliance, and support safe execution of site development activities throughout the project.
Required Qualifications- BCSP Certification CHST, CSP, ASP, or SMP
- OSHA 30 Construction Certification
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
- Data center or mission-critical construction experience
- Mass excavation and site development experience
- Excavation/Trenching Competent Person experience
- Heavy equipment safety experience
- Underground utility construction experience
- CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
- Oversee daily safety activities for site development and land preparation operations
- Maintain a highly visible field presence throughout active construction areas
- Monitor mass excavation, trenching, grading, and earthmoving activities
- Provide safety oversight for heavy equipment and mobile equipment operations
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and hazard assessments
- Verify excavation protective systems, access/egress, spoil placement, and site conditions
- Monitor underground utility and trenching activities
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
- Coordinate safety activities with project supervision, equipment operators, and craft personnel
- Identify unsafe conditions and implement timely corrective actions
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses
- Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
- Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project

The ideal candidate is a field-focused construction safety professional with strong excavation, trenching, grading, and heavy civil experience who is comfortable working around active earthmoving operations and heavy equipment.
Success in this role requires maintaining a strong field presence, proactively identifying changing site conditions and excavation hazards, effectively communicating with operators and supervision, and ensuring site development activities are completed safely and in compliance with OSHA requirements.
