Position Title:
LHS Credit Recovery Instructional Assistant

The Credit Recovery Instructional Assistant (IA) will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the online learning program, ensuring a structured and supportive learning environment for students to regain missed credits towards graduation. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of online learning platforms, and a commitment to supporting student achievement. The team member will be responsible for the following:
Program Management- Manage and maintain the set-up of local Edmentum course offerings
- Coordinate with IT support for any technical issues or updates
- Create a structured and conducive learning environment in the Edmentum Study Hall by establishing clear expectations, implementing effective classroom management strategies, and providing a quiet and focused workspace for students
- Monitor student progress and provide support when needed
- Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and success
- Develop and implement intervention strategies for struggling students
- Encourage and motivate students to stay on track and complete their coursework
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and course completion
- Collaborate with counselors and administrators to ensure proper credit allocation
- Prepare regular progress reports for administrators, counselors, and parents/guardians to keep them informed of student achievement and areas for improvement
- Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Multi-faceted, multi-skilled, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help our students reach a level of academic excellence
- Model positive and healthy character traits and habits, such as being organized, consistent and understanding
- Possess integrity and commitment to the LCSC mission and willingness to serve the LCSC Community
- This position requires a high level of physical and mental endurance.
- Sitting in an office/classroom environment, performing tasks on a computer or other technical devices.
- Frequent standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Frequent walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one part of the building to another.
- Constantly talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas to colleagues and/ or students accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Ability to hear and listen to detailed information through oral communication.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
- Ability to handle and balance multiple demands at the same time.
