The Clinical Nurse Educator is a cornerstone position at Witham, responsible for supporting the long-term success and retention of both newly graduated and experienced nurses. Reporting directly to the Lead Clinical Educator, this role assists with Nurse Residency Program and oversees educational initiatives across Witham. This is a visible, high-impact role for someone who is passionate about developing people and building a culture of continuous learning.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Nurse residency, supporting nurse retention, engagement, and professional development.
- Partner with nursing and department leaders to align staff competencies with organizational priorities.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning across clinical and non-clinical teams.
- Design and maintain high-quality educational programs that promote clinical leadership and quality patient care.
- Serve as the key liaison between education, nursing, and leadership teams.
- Advocate for employee engagement and long-term career development through meaningful educational initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a valid Indiana nursing license.
- 5+ years of acute care clinical experience (critical care, ED, ICU, oncology, cardiac, trauma, or similar high-acuity settings).
- At least 1 year of experience in education or staff development, such as preceptor or mentor roles.
- Certification appropriate to assigned duties (e.g., ACLS/PALS at instructor level).
- Strong understanding of nursing education principles and program development.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and influence strategy through education.
- Clear communicator, natural leader, and thoughtful problem-solver.
- The ability to drive change and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
