Summary Of Duties & Responsibilities

Focus is on assuring product quality throughout our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities extend to document control, product/process approval, receiving inspection, and operator training. Handles matters pertaining to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards. Reports on improvement opportunities.

Essential Functions
  • Assists in leading the plant-wide quality system
  • Audits various elements of our quality system and reports on findings
  • Advises management on potential quality system issues and recommends improvements
  • Maintains document control system
  • Advises quality assurance manager and manufacturing engineering staff on potential quality issues
  • Documents quality work instructions, as directed
  • Assists in production training, as needed
  • Assists with installation and start-up of new equipment/machines
  • Coordinates QA requirements for PPAPs
  • Assists with new-process PPAPs, new product PPAPs and PPAPs associated with changes and/or equipment relocations
  • Procurement of measuring and testing devices
  • Monitors and reports on measuring equipment and instruments, assists with training on the use of such items
Minimum Requirements
  • Relevant engineering/technical degree desired
  • Two years of quality assurance experience preferably for a manufacturer
  • Two years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience serving as an auditor helpful, product/process auditing experience necessary
  • Proficient in use of gauges and instruments commonly used in manufacturing
  • Familiarity with welding, machining, and press operations helpful
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving
  • Proven use of analytical skill
  • Excellent communicator
  • Willingness to work other shifts as necessary
