Field Engineering Responsibilities
- Close‑out: redlines, test audits, lessons learned, warranties, product submittals.
- Build‑out: verify measurements, equipment placements, grounding and bonding; finalize redlines.
- Fiber: use internal tracker to capture ISP changes; verify all fiber scope.
- Copper: use internal tracker to ensure pull‑sheets, tag plants, and fields are in print; redline and submit for review.
- Network: configure details and execute network redlines when required.
- RFI referencing/implementation: reference RFIs on redlines before QA review.
- Test audits: run audits, verify cable schedules, build projects, ensure 100% match between tests and prints, manage re‑tests.
- Lessons learned: update document throughout the build; finalize the standard template at project end.
- Warranties: collect information and send for processing.
- Product submittals: complete initial submittal after RFP issuance; verify BOM with POs and obtain product sheets.
- Labels: print and manage labels for installation teams; maintain a sign‑out system.
- Design (Shop Drawings): verify, brainstorm, submit to BIM
360, update revisions, hyperlinks; focus on infrastructure (grounding/bonding), copper, fiber, detail sheets.
- Self‑motivated, positive, professional, and able to lead a team to develop and implement project process improvements.
- Promotes company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and partners.
- Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and communication skills (written and oral).
- Diagnoses and resolves problems with existing equipment and new installs.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and critical thinker.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate with the customer.
- High skill level in interpreting blueprints, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
- Willing to travel within branch or regional territory as required.
- High School diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 3–4 years of commercial low‑voltage/structured cabling experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Must meet company minimum driving standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a scope of work, develop detailed tasks, and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
