If you're a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck mechanic who knows how to diagnose problems, make quality repairs, and keep equipment operating safely, this is an opportunity to put those skills to work on a ready mix fleet.

We're looking for a dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our Indianapolis team. You'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and light electrical problems, and repair the heavy-duty trucks and equipment that keep daily operations moving.

This is a full-time, day-shift position typically M-F, (although, Saturday work may be required occasionally) for a hands-on mechanic who takes pride in quality repairs, safe work, and keeping equipment ready for the road.

You’ll diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty truck and equipment systems, including:

• Engines
• Transmissions
• Brakes
• Rear axles
• Gearboxes
• Driveline components
• Springs and suspension components
• Other mechanical truck components

As a Ready Mix Diesel Mechanic
, you’ll:

• Perform mechanical and light electrical inspections
• Diagnose equipment problems using job orders, inspections, and operating observations
• Complete preventive maintenance, including brakes, fluids, lighting, and lubrication
  
  Repair or replace failed or damaged mechanical components
• Troubleshoot and repair brake system issues
• Service trucks and related equipment
• Change oils and fluids and perform routine lubrication
• Record services and repairs accurately for vehicle maintenance records
• Perform welding and equipment repairs as needed
• Operate cutting torches, gas welding equipment, power drills, power saws, air tools, impact guns, chipping guns, and other shop equipment
• Follow required PPE and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area
• Work efficiently to meet repair timelines
• Communicate, improve, and follow company safety policies
• High school diploma or GED,
  or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and walk as required
• Class A or Class B CDL or ability to obtain one
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a shop environment

• Technical school or diesel/heavy-duty mechanical training
• Additional heavy-duty truck or fleet maintenance experience
• Spanish-speaking or bilingual skills
