Primary Function
Ability to design and program custom industrial automated equipment as well as performing administrative duties regarding the projects. Provide technical support to external and internal customers. Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards PLC and servo controls. Provide leadership and technical direction to all Controls Engineering project members. Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increase.
Responsible in assisting to the project success. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and industry requirements are observed for all work completed. Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities. Interpret customer requirements, identity and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget.

- Independently design the control system for large multiple-module systems. The design includes controls hardware design and development of PLC and HMI code.
- Development of controls architecture for medium single-module machines or assist on large multi-module machines.
- Program control systems for servo, robotic, and air-operated stations, along with test and electrical devices with minimum assistance.
- Lead teams of Controls Engineers, implement, mentor, and monitor tasks.
- Ensure the electrical design is functional, robust, and cost-effective.
- Innovate and use good judgment to incorporate Client's standards and regulatory requirements.
- Research and specify appropriate purchased and preferred components.
- Maintain project scope and identify scope creep. As a lead will be responsible for maintaining the project scope and budget.
- Create electrical wiring schematics, flow diagrams, panel layouts, and Bill of Materials, organize release packages, and update schematics. Proficient in designing the control system using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Participate in internal and customer design reviews, installations, and service calls when needed.
- Guide technicians in wiring and codes. Support software validation requirements.
- Work with suppliers to find/develop the most functional and economical solutions to design issues.
- Work under the confines of the project schedule and budget.
- Problem‑solve with Automation Technicians, debug software issues, and update all appropriate documentation.
- Communicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form.
- Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, build exhibit objectivity, and openness to others' views.
- Prioritizes, plans, and organizes work and workspace.
- Travel or extend workday if needed.

- Demonstrate financial acumen appropriate for this position.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of eight years of directly related experience.
- Technical understanding of integrating industrial devices.
- Proficiency with Rockwell software, AutoCAD Electrical as well as an understanding of Vision systems and Robot integration.
- Experience in PLC software in addition to Rockwell will be considered an added advantage.
