Description
As a Resident Engineer you will be the on‑site technical authority and primary liaison between the manufacturing facility and product engineering, ensuring that production processes, quality standards, and technical specifications are strictly met. You will be asked to resolve technical issues, optimize manufacturing processes, and minimize downtime by providing proactive and reactive support on the factory floor.
You will ensure quality control and compliance by performing on‑site inspections of components and assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings, engineering specifications, and quality standards. You will troubleshoot and problem solve by leading and resolving design or machine issues that cause production downtime. You will actively bridge the gap between suppliers, manufacturing, and product engineering to facilitate communication, report on issues, and help to ensure swift resolution to issues.
You will provide post‑sales technical support to ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining high quality standards.
This position will be located in our Lebanon, Missouri facility.
Responsibilities- Managing and coordinating efforts among cross functional teams to complete projects
- Product engineering support, including managing pilot parts, pilot runs and pilot data and coordinating ECN status to operations and writing deviations if required
- Support for plant operations, including supporting production and manufacturing as well as in plant quality and engineering needs
- Leading troubleshooting activities to solve customer, plant or engineering problems
- Contributing to quality improvement projects
- Brainstorming and leading cost improvement projects
- Analyze and present data as needed
- Demonstrate understanding of functional role
- Travel Information: 15%-20% (to our Sidney, OH plant)
- Associates degree in an Engineering or other technical field, plus at least 7 years of related experience
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering plus at least 5 years of related experience (Preferred)
- Experience in high volume manufacturing facility
- Experience with high volume rotating equipment
- Minitab or other statistical software
- Knowledge and experience with DMAIC problem solving methodology
- Lean or Six‑sigma knowledge a plus
