Manufacturing Engineer

G3 Boats, a division of Yamaha Marine, is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Lebanon, Missouri. This onsite role is responsible for evaluating, improving, and implementing manufacturing processes that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, support quality standards, and strengthen overall production performance.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on problem solver who takes ownership of technical challenges, is comfortable analyzing data and process documentation, and can effectively drive projects from concept through implementation. This position offers the opportunity to lead process improvement initiatives, develop engineered solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful plant operations.

Essential Job Functions: (responsibilities, duties and standards of the position, including supervisory level and reporting relationship)

• Evaluate existing manufacturing systems and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, yield, cost, safety, and changeover performance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes to improve productivity, reduce waste, strengthen quality, and support operational excellence
• Develop, configure, and implement new manufacturing processes and process improvements using sound engineering practices
• Assess production processes, take measurements, interpret data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
• Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and strengthening quality standards
• Develop and implement systems that optimize multiple phases of the production process
• Perform risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to address process, quality, and operational issues
• Prepare reports, process documentation, and operating instructions to support implementation and ongoing consistency
• Lead process development projects of moderate to large scope, managing timelines, priorities, and project constraints
• Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing and quality‑related questions across the operation
• Identify and apply manufacturing best practices, standards, and emerging technologies that improve productivity, cost, quality, and agility
• Determine manufacturing costs using established or customized methodologies
• Lead cross‑functional project teams and partner with site personnel to transition process improvements into plant operations

Qualifications and Skills: (in terms of experience, education & training)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• Proven work experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or process engineering
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen, and background check
• Ability to investigate complex process issues, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical engineered solutions
• Comfort working independently on technical assignments while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
• Strong command of manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling, and process‑related standards
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑moving environment without losing focus on quality and documentation
• Clear written communication skills for reporting, process documentation, and operating instructions
• Effective verbal communication skills for working with employees, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and manufacturing risk assessment practices
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles;
  Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
• Experience with robotic operations and installation preferred
• Sheet metal manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred

Safety/Environmental/Physical Demands:

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods
• Ability to lift or move materials and equipment up to a reasonable weight threshold, with or without accommodation
• Ability to use required personal protective equipment and follow all plant safety procedures
• Ability to travel between office and production environments as needed to support projects, troubleshooting, and implementation
