ENVIRONMENTAL --- UNDERGROUND OPERATOR I (Equipment Operator I)

• Ensures the public has safe drinking water
• Maintains the health of the City’s environmental (water/wastewater) systems

• Perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor associated with the installation, maintenance and/or repair of the City’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems
• Operate various types of equipment, hand/power tools and/or vehicles
  • Automatic and manual transmissions

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
  PLUS one (1) year of experience in general construction, maintenance and/or repair activities, with underground experience preferred

• Valid Driver's License
  • "Class B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will be required within six (6) months of employment

• Can perform manual labor tasks
• Can work within a "team" environment
• Enjoys working outdoors
• Has experience, or is willing to learn how to operate various types of hand/power tools, equipment and/or vehicles proficiently
• Is willing to get dirty
• Willing to work "on-call"
