Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Lineman/Groundman role based in the Southwest Central Missouri area. The Lineman is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead powerlines and related electrical distribution equipment. Daily tasks include setting poles, stringing and sagging conductors, installing hardware and transformers, and performing troubleshooting and restoration of service during outages. The role involves operating and assisting with heavy equipment, working aloft on poles and in buckets, and following all safety procedures and regulatory standards.
The Lineman will collaborate with crew members, complete work orders and documentation, and participate in on-call or emergency response as needed.
- Strong knowledge of electricity and power distribution systems, including overhead line construction and maintenance.
- Experience working with substations and related electrical equipment safely and efficiently.
- CDL Class A license or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Proficiency in operating and working around heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and loaders.
- Commitment to safety practices, including use of PPE, adherence to OSHA and industry standards, and participation in safety training.
- Ability to work at heights, in varied weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, and manual labor.
- Effective teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in field environments.
- Previous lineman or utility construction experience preferred; relevant technical training or apprenticeship is beneficial.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the worksite.
