As an Electrical Design Plant Engineer on our Power Supply Engineering Services team, you will play a key role in designing and integrating electrical systems across hydro, wind, solar, and energy storage projects that support Oregon’s clean energy transition. Your work will directly impact how we deliver reliable and sustainable energy.

• Design and support the development, procurement, and integration of electrical systems for renewable and generation assets, ensuring designs meet safety, reliability, and operational requirements.
• Apply engineering knowledge to address technical challenges and contribute practical, forward‑thinking solutions that improve system performance.
• Support system performance by applying engineering principles to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NERC/WECC, NEC, NESC, IEEE, OSHA, NFPA) and contribute to continuous improvement of plant operations.

• Engineering Standards: Apply professional knowledge of NERC/WECC Reliability Standards, NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection, and NEC and NESC to plant design and construction; enhance familiarity with relevant IEEE standards.
• Engineering Production: Prepare moderately complex engineering deliverables; lead smaller production teams; develop solutions that meet technical requirements, all applicable codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Project Coordination: Assign tasks and coordinate with internal and external team members on assigned projects; provide professional guidance in executing project tasks.
• Knowledge Sharing: Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes; offer mentoring and corrective actions as needed.

• Engineering Standards: Provide guidance and direction on engineering processes and standards; support compliance with NERC/WECC and extended professional knowledge of NEC, NESC, and IEEE standards.
• Engineering Production: Prepare complex deliverables for larger or multiple projects; coordinate multi‑discipline activity; provide quality assurance reviews of engineering solutions.
• Project Coordination: Actively coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects; represent the team to interdepartmental and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a technical specialist; provide consultation and guidance to project teams; foster knowledge management and mentoring.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; ABET–accredited engineering program or equivalent preferred.
• Experience:
  
  P2 – two or more years in related field; P3 – five or more years in related field or four or more years with PE license.
• Certifications:
  • FE exam strongly preferred for P2.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred for P3.

• Functional

  Intermediate knowledge of engineering principles, other engineering disciplines, QA/QC processes, procurement, construction feasibility, project controls, and power plant improvements.

  Intermediate accuracy, organization, prioritization, decision‑making, communication, and presentation skills.

• Requires a valid driver’s license; daily travel within service territory, occasional overnight travel, and on‑call schedule.
• Computer use is required; lifting/pushing/pulling up to 10 lb; carrying up to 10 lb; walking distances on uneven surfaces.
• Work environments include office, plant, and field.
• Must meet attendance and scheduling requirements, including shift and on‑call schedules.
