Edare seeks a full-time Software and Automation Engineer to support a variety of engineering challenges, including automating processes associated with micro and miniature-scale tubular heat exchanger assemblies. Manufacturing processes suitable for automation include inspection, assembly, measurement, precision welding, lasers, cameras, optics, motion controls, and testing.
Primary responsibilities:- Rapid growth of a compact heat exchanger production line
- Maintenance and evolution of existing systems, including custom Python-based CAM software
- Setting best practices and driving the growth of the software and automation function at Edare
- Continuous learning and growth alongside a highly skilled and motivated technical team
- Collaborate with mechanical and fabrication engineers to improve legacy heat exchanger assembly processes by developing new capabilities
- Identify and order materials, parts, components, and equipment as needed
- Provide experimental support, including devising test fixtures, conducting tests, running experiments, troubleshooting, collecting, recording, and analyzing data
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Software/Computing
- Working knowledge of Python, OpenCV, Git, G-code, robot and cobot programming
- Algorithm development
- Scientific/numerical computing
- Embedded computing
- Demonstrated proficiency in R&D or production environments
- Desire to work on multiple, deadline-driven projects concurrently
- Effective task management and communication skills
- Familiarity with Solid Works, CAM, and version control (e.g., Git)
- Design for manufacturing and machine shop skills
- Experience with common CAD tools

Salary Range: $85,000 – $150,000 per year, based on education and experience.
