Program Overview

The Dartmouth Health Neurology and Neurocritical Care Postgraduate Fellowship program is an intensive 12-month training program focused on preparing you for a successful career in neurology or neurocritical care. Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellows will work alongside other APPs and Attendings while engaging in structured, competency-based clinical and didactic training with progressive independence tailored to your development.

Training Site

Your training will take place at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), a qua ternary care facility and level one trauma center.

Skills Developed
  • Synthesize knowledge of neuroanatomy and pathophysiology with the results of advanced diagnostics and findings on neurologic examination to diagnose and localize complex neurologic disorders.
  • Develop a solid foundation in the management of outpatient, hospital-based, and critically ill neurology patients.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with a highly effective team in a dynamic and rapidly changing field.

The goal of the program is to help you grow and develop the acute and long-range medical and critical thinking skills required to build a successful career in neurology or neurocritical care.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Master's Degree Physician Assistant Program or an Advanced Practice Nursing program
  • Must have an active national certification as a PA or NP (must be AGACNP if pursuing the neurocritical care track)
  • Ability to obtain/maintain PA/APRN licensure in New Hampshire prior to program start date
  • Eligible to obtain Federal DEA Registration

All offers are contingent on the successful completion of the standard DHMC pre-employment criminal background check, health screening, and clinical credentialing process before matriculation.
