Position: Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) - Otolaryngology

Otolaryngology Clinic (ENT)

40 hours per week.

The LNA role in the clinic is to provide specialty care to our patient population and can change depending on the provider(s) and multi-specialty clinics. This position will support 20+ providers, ranging from the surgeons to nurses. Some job duties can include, but are not limited to rooming patients, collecting vital signs, low-level disinfection, completing medication reconciliation, providing patient education, assisting the providers in clinic procedures (such as scopes, biopsies, ear injections, ear tube placement), and maintaining supply inventory.

A strong work ethic and ability to communicate professionally with patients, nurses, physicians, administrative staff, and other departments is vital to success in this position. The LNA must possess the ability to work as a team and communicate well with others.

Performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care duties. Possesses direct access to drug products and secure medication locations in order to manage the storage, handling and disposal of medications consistent with the Medication Storage and Handling Policy.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with routine patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including, but not be limited to, performing ADL’s, obtaining clinical data, including vital signs, heights and weights, utilizing universal precautions, collecting specimens or performing point of care testing and recording results in medical record, etc.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping the hallways clear of excess equipment, emptying linen bags when full, etc.
  • Assists visitors and answer telephones.
  • Assists new co-workers in learning the work of the department.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate required.
  • Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be familiar with computer use.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of NH required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
