Job Details:

• Work in a 32-bed surgical unit specializing in medical-surgical care

• Must have surgical experience caring for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery

• RN patient ratios: 4:1 on day shifts and 5:1 on night shifts

• Expected to float to other units as needed

• On-call responsibilities required

• Must have experience with chest tubes, various tubes, and drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone

• Required experience with lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients

• Must be comfortable caring for patients with trachs/laryngectomies

• Telemetry monitoring experience required

• Experience with complex wound care necessary

• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draws required

• Common patient diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, and sepsis

• Unit shares LNA resources with PCU (ratios 1:7-11)
