Position Title
Research Assistant II
Position PurposeTo set up and conduct a variety of laboratory tests and experiments in support of research studies directed at Xnew ARPAh-funded APECx vaccine project using artificial intelligence to design vaccines against HSV.
Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory experiments/tests, utilizing established methods, procedures, and techniques; observe experiments, record observations, and maintain laboratory notebook (70%).
- Prepare data representations such as graphs, charts, tables, and statistical summaries; analyze data; summarize results and prepare progress reports for oral presentations (15%).
- Instruct others in laboratory methods, procedures, and techniques; provide technical guidance and maintain computerized records (10%).
- Assist in animal research, including maintenance of mouse colonies, injections, breeding, in vivo assays, and entering data into databases (5%).
- Demonstrate professionalism and collegiality in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
3+ years of relevant laboratory/research experience.
Skills & Abilities:
Competence in laboratory methods, equipment, and instruments; ability to work independently with good judgment, organizational and time‑management skills; willingness to work with hazardous materials (radioactive, infectious, or hazardous chemicals); knowledge of computers and software applications.
