Position PurposeTo set up and conduct a variety of laboratory tests and experiments in support of research studies directed at the Xnew ARPAh-funded APECx vaccine project using artificial intelligence to design vaccines against HSV.
Key Accountabilities- Conduct laboratory experiments/tests, utilizing a range of established methods, procedures, and techniques with necessary preparations, observe experiments, record observations, and maintain laboratory notebook. (70%)
- Prepare representation of data such as graphs, charts, tables, statistical summaries, analyze data, summarize results, and prepare progress reports for oral presentation. (15%)
- Instruct others in laboratory methods, procedures, and techniques and provide technical guidance as required. Maintain computerized records associated with laboratory activities. (10%)
- Assist in animal research, including maintenance of mouse colonies, injections, breeding, in vivo assays, and entering data into computerized databases. (5%)
- Demonstrate professionalism and collegiality; perform other duties as assigned.
- Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge And Abilities- 3 years of relevant lab/research experience.
- Competence in several laboratory methods, procedures, and techniques, as well as equipment and instruments.
- Ability to work independently with good judgment, organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to work with or be exposed to hazardous materials such as radioactive, infectious materials, or hazardous chemicals.
- Knowledge of computers and software applications.
