The part-time Volunteer Program Assistant will aid the Volunteer Programs Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Literacy Connections program, including various administrative duties. The program focuses on adult basic education and English as a second language skills. This paid role will involve work that will occur during normal business hours and occasional evenings or weekends throughout the year, potentially.
- Maintain a database for tracking students, tutor volunteers, and program materials.
- Process monthly calendars and input hours in the database.
- Keep regular correspondence with students, tutors, and volunteers; assist with contacting individuals and ensuring program details are communicated effectively.
- Assist the Volunteer Programs Manager with student/tutor placement and dispositioning cases after they are closed.
- Maintain program files and documents.
- Greet and welcome students and tutors, provide information about the program, and help coordinate meetings.
- Maintain program inventory, order, and replenish supplies as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned to support the program such as dropping off program materials to library systems in Warren County or conducting intake sessions with new tutor volunteers.
- This role reports to the Volunteer Programs Manager.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Salesforce experience preferred but not required.
- Flexible schedule for attending community events and engaging in outreach activities, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of related experience is required.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
