Job Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of the RoleResponsible for entering the Bill of Materials into the ERP system and creating special BOMs and routings for custom jobs. Part numbers shall be created and maintained based upon engineering bill of materials. Ensure the smooth transition for all engineering changes and communicate effectively to minimize operational issues. This role is responsible for ensuring custom orders are built to the specs given by the customer and directing the floor as to what materials to use to build the order.
This position must communicate with the assembly team to ensure product is built correctly.
- Building structures for custom orders.
- Work with Purchasing to buy special materials and track materials to ensure timely delivery for major projects.
- Entering BOMs for new products and changing BOMs when required from an ECR or ECO.
- Work with Product Development to set up custom order process on new products.
- Work closely with scheduling team and production leads.
- Modify product drawings in Solid Works.
- Assist in ECR execution.
- Audit system structures and item cards.
- Work on Kaizen Teams to support engineering modifications and specials processes.
- Work with the Manufacturing Engineering team on active projects.
- Engage in monitoring and enhancing processes and internal controls.
- Drive improvements on custom orders process to ensure satisfaction with both internal and external customers.
Education & Experience:
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field. Understanding of BOM structure and labor standards required.
- Proficiency with CAD, Solid Works.
- Project management and follow through (stays with or follows‑up on tasks, takes ownership, fully accountable and responsive to others. Focus on initiatives that are integral to the success of our corporate strategy—managing goals and deliverables.)
- Ability to train and empower employees.
- Ability to work in a team‑based environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and patience required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular) required.
- Ability to interface with different business levels and disciplines as necessary.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and work extra hours if needed.
- Curiosity – Interest in listening and learning; always seeking outside perspectives and adept at interactive and iterative conversations (bounce ideas off each other and coming to conclusions).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: APICS Certification preferred but not required.
