Description:
Administers nursing care within the scope of practice under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician.
Administers oxygen, applies sterile dressings, and inserts catheters.
Reinserts gastrotomy tubes, suctions, and irrigates wounds, and gives enemas.
Collects specimens and performs dialysis treatments, operating hemodialysis equipment while monitoring patients during procedures.
Assists with physical exams, treatments, or laboratory tests.
Provides first aid, performs CPR, and restrains patients as needed in emergencies.
Administers controlled and non-controlled medications in various forms and provides medication instructions to patients.
Maintains medication accountability records and documents patient conditions, reactions, and progress.
Prepares and maintains related reports, including unusual incident reports and medication logs.
Provides general nursing care and assistance with daily living activities.
Takes patient vital signs and assists with personal grooming and hygiene.
Repositions patients and responds to patient alarms, making medical appointments when necessary.
Orders medication and medical supplies, cleans and restocks medication areas, and performs clerical tasks.
Provides assistance and training to lower-level direct care staff in nursing care delivery.
Attends and participates in various meetings related to patient care and team collaboration.
Demonstrates knowledge of skilled nursing procedures, pharmacology, and patient care standards.
Utilizes medical equipment and maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Develops a rapport with patients and effectively manages emergency situations.
