Position Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care and direct patient support within the scope of practice established by the Ohio Revised Code and under the direction of an authorized healthcare professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer nursing care and medications within the LPN scope of practice.
- Maintain medication accountability records, patient records, and related reports.
- Observe, document, and report patient conditions, treatment responses, medication reactions, behavior, and progress.
- Provide general nursing and direct patient care, including vital signs, personal hygiene, bathing, daily living activities, repositioning, and responding to patient alarms.
- Assist with medical appointments, patient escorts, and recreational or treatment-plan activities.
- Assist with emergencies, including first aid and CPR.
- Provide work direction, orientation, and training to lower-level direct care staff.
- Participate in staff conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, in-service training, and nursing meetings as assigned.
- Order medications and medical supplies and maintain medication rooms, carts, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform related clerical duties, including answering phones and filing.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of licensed practical nursing procedures, pharmacology, patient care, first aid, CPR, HIPAA regulations, and healthcare practices and procedures.
- Skill in using medical equipment and performing nursing treatments.
- Ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate emergency action.
- Ability to develop good rapport with patients and residents.
- Ability to understand and follow nursing procedures, manuals, and verbal instructions.
- Ability to administer injections and perform medical treatments safely.
- Ability to move, reposition, or restrain patients as required.
