The Physical Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the company's comprehensive physical security program across two manufacturing campuses. This role oversees all aspects of facility security, access control, surveillance systems, crisis management, emergency response coordination, visitor management, compliance, and employee security awareness training.
The Physical Security Manager partners closely with Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Food Safety, Operations, and site leadership to ensure a safe, secure, and compliant environment for employees, contractors, visitors, assets, and operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this position will build and mature the security program through risk assessments, policy development, technology integration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and manage the company-wide physical security strategy and security operations program for two manufacturing campuses.
- Establish and maintain physical security policies, procedures, standards, and best practices aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead all aspects of facility security including access control systems, badge administration, surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and visitor management processes.
- Manage security technology integrations and continuous improvement efforts involving access control, CCTV, monitoring systems, and related security infrastructure.
- Conduct routine security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and risk evaluations to identify and mitigate threats to personnel, property, and operations.
- Coordinate and lead crisis management, emergency response, incident response, and business continuity support activities in partnership with EHS and Operations leadership.
- Develop and facilitate annual security training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and site leadership.
- Investigate security incidents, policy violations, workplace threats, theft, and other security-related matters; prepare reports and corrective action recommendations.
- Support executive leadership and HR in workplace violence prevention, employee investigations, and sensitive response situations.
- Serve as the primary security liaison with local law enforcement, emergency responders, contractors, and external security partners.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer security expectations.
- Partner closely with EHS, Food Safety, HR, and Operations teams to align security initiatives with overall site safety and operational priorities.
- Manage security vendors, contractors, system providers, and associated budgets assigned.
- Maintain accurate security documentation, records, audit materials, and incident reporting metrics.
- Drive a culture of safety, accountability, preparedness, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- In alignment with MANE's environmental commitments, actively participate in relevant environmental education and training. Adhere to all applicable environmental policies, procedures, and best practices as they relate to job responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in physical security, corporate security, manufacturing security, law enforcement, military, or related field.
- Experience building or leading security programs within a manufacturing, industrial, food production, or multi-site environment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing access control systems, surveillance platforms, visitor management systems, and security technology integrations.
- Strong knowledge of crisis management, emergency response coordination, workplace violence prevention, and incident investigation practices.
- Experience conducting security assessments, audits, and compliance activities.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with HR, EHS, Operations, Food Safety, and executive leadership teams.
- Effective communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- Professional security certifications such as CPP, PSP, or related credentials are preferred.
