Environmental Technician - Department of Public Works, Water Distribution & Sewer Collections Division

Description : The City of Lebanon is accepting applications for the position of Environmental Technician in the Public Works Department, Water Distribution and Sewer Collections Division. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated team player. The primary areas of responsibility will include maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs to the water distribution system as well as storm and sanitary sewer collection systems.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work in all weather conditions. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Candidates must also be available for emergency response outside of the regular working schedule. Applicants must be 18 years of age, display excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess an Ohio-Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake and tanker endorsements or be able to obtain one within nine (9) months of hire.

Ohio EPA certification in water distribution and/or or sewer collection is encouraged within three years of placement into the position with an hourly wage increase possible per license. Starting pay rate will be based on experience and will range from $22.00 to $30.00 per hour DOQ. The City offers excellent benefits and retirement. The position requires the employee to be on a standby rotation schedule with 16-hour straight time pay with the employee performing periodic paid emergency call-outs with the expectation of reporting to work within 30 minutes of being contacted.
