THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION - FEBRUARY 13, 2026 TO MAY 6, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Criminal history clearance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability through a formal state or local academic assessment.
  • May be required to obtain an Oregon Type 10 Passenger Driver Certification, which requires a valid driver's license.

HOURS: 7.25 hours/day, Monday - Friday

BEGINNING DATE/WAGES: To Be Determined, $17.07 - $22.46 hr.

- Placement determined by experience per the negotiated LESPA Contract.

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to provide teachers with instructional support to student(s). Responsibilities will include a variety of activities including complicated tasks involving carrying out instructional or support plans for students under direct teacher supervision. Assigned tasks may involve working with individuals or groups in the regular classroom or special education settings. In this position, academic assistance is primary and personal care is secondary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists the designated teacher(s) with individual and group supervision and behavior management of students.
  • Assists in developing and carrying out individual programs of instruction and support for designated students under the direct supervision of the teacher.
  • Observes, collects data, and records student progress.
  • Assists with individual student testing.
  • Supervises setting up and clean‑up before and after activities.
  • Prepares and organizes instructional materials as directed, including bulletin boards.
  • Prepares and operates audio‑visual equipment as needed.
  • Assists with student supervision as needed.
  • Participates in staffing or parent meetings as directed.
  • Assists parents and community members as needed.
  • Participates in district classified assistant staff development program activities.
  • Transports students in district vehicles for class‑related activities.
  • May be required to transport students to and from school under a Type 10 Driver Certification.
  • Works harmoniously with others and communicates effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, and staff.
  • Frequent and prolonged talking/hearing conversations.
