Job Summary
The Diagnostic Imaging Department at LBCC seeks a part‑time faculty instructor to develop, plan, and deliver lectures, laboratory activities, and assignments according to approved course outlines. The instructor may also serve as a secondary lab instructor for other faculty courses.
Responsibilities- Develop course schedules and syllabi.
- Plan, develop and deliver classroom lectures and activities.
- Plan, develop and deliver brief pre‑lab lectures and activities.
- Develop methods to assess student progress and competence in accordance with course learning outcomes.
- Develop or adapt interactive/active learning laboratory exercises designed to engage different types of learners.
- Practice and enforce departmental safety standards in the lab. Maintain and demonstrate industry standards of safety for students.
- Keep track of equipment at lab stations and verify that all equipment is left at each lab station in good condition at the end of each laboratory section.
- Practice and enforce good laboratory technique along with end‑of‑lab clean‑up.
- Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable and consistent out‑of‑class contact with students.
- Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. Promote a classroom environment and a curriculum of equity and inclusivity. Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written English.
- Submit reports of student learning outcomes.
Work is performed in an office, classroom, or lab setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. Working with ionizing imaging equipment is required. The position requires arm, hand, and finger dexterity to operate a keyboard or other office equipment, sufficient visual acuity to recognize alphanumeric characters, good hearing, and well‑developed speaking ability to communicate with staff and students. Work is performed indoors with minimal exposure to safety and health hazards.
Education and ExperienceAssociate degree and ARRT Registered. Prefer one year of Radiology Technology experience in the field, one‑year broad‑based teaching experience in a clinical setting, high school, community college, or university setting.

Transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be accompanied by an international credential agency evaluation.

CompensationCourses are paid on a per‑credit basis. New part‑time faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps rolled once per term if eligible. Compensation per hour is outlined in tables for meetings, training, advising, curriculum development, and other related work.
- All new employees must be compensated via direct deposit.
- Offers are contingent on Oregon residency at the time work commences.
- Background check completion is required before employment.
- No visa sponsorship offered.
- Within three days of hire, the new hire must complete the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Form I‑9.
