Position Title

Automotive Technology Instructor

Advanced Transportation Technology Center, Lebanon, OR

Teach courses that train students in hands‑on automotive repair, diagnostics, and shop safety, following ASE and industry best practices. Evaluate and provide feedback to students to enable safe and effective repairs.

• Teach automotive technology classes.
• Maintain office hours and student advising.
• Establish working liaisons with local and regional automotive repair industry.
• Participate in student recruitment and advising.
• Maintain shop space and equipment.
• Stay current with emerging transportation technology trends.
• Ensure safety of students and security of the Advanced Transportation & Technology Center.
• Perform other professional duties as needed.

• Associate degree in Automotive and/or Diesel repair or a closely related field.
• Minimum of four years of full‑time experience in Automotive and/or Diesel repair, or seven years of documented industry experience.
• Experience must include diagnostics and repairs in suspension, steering, brakes, drivetrain, electrical/electronic systems, and hydraulic systems.
• ASE certification in drive train, automotive engines, suspension and steering, brakes, and electrical/electronic systems, or ability to complete certifications within the first year of employment.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license.

• High‑Voltage vehicle systems knowledge, including Hybrid and Battery Electric Vehicles.
• ASE Master Certification in Automotive.

Effective communication with staff and students in one‑on‑one, over the phone, and in classroom/lab settings. Sustained walking, standing, and bending while using equipment and tools; ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. Visual acuity to read words and numbers and operate lab equipment.

Starting salary range $68,031 – $78,068 for a 168‑day schedule. Salary prorated for remaining days in the contract.
