TIG Welder

Selmet is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our precision aerospace manufacturing team in Springfield, OR. In this role, you will perform GTAW/TIG welding on titanium and other aerospace alloys to exacting specifications, using blueprints, weld procedures, and calibrated equipment. You will prepare joints, fit and align parts, and complete high-integrity welds that meet NADCAP and customer standards. Responsibilities include inspecting welds, documenting results, and supporting continuous improvement, 5S, and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG/GTAW welding on titanium and aerospace alloys to engineering specifications
• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions to plan weld sequences
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, fixtures, and tooling
• Prepare, fit, and align components to meet tight tolerances
• Inspect welds using visual and basic measurement tools, correcting defects as needed
• Complete required production, quality, and traceability documentation
• Follow all safety, PPE, and aerospace quality requirements (NADCAP/AS9100)
• Support continuous improvement, 5
• S, and lean manufacturing practices

Required Skills
