We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join a mission-driven organization providing essential community services. This role offers excellent long-term growth potential, with the opportunity to eventually transition into an Accounting Manager position as the organization evolves. The ideal candidate is highly organized, Excel-savvy, and committed to maintaining accuracy and strong data integrity.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- The Accountant will maintain accurate and organized financial records with a strong focus on data integrity
- Utilize Excel for data queries, extraction, analysis, and reporting
- The Accountant will assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Support budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting across organizational functions
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable regulations
- Collaborate with leadership to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
- The Accountant will assist with audits and prepare supporting documentation as needed
- 3+ years of accounting experience; nonprofit or public-sector experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, queries, and reporting functions
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining data integrity
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently while also supporting a team-oriented environment
- Strong sense of accountability and discretion when handling confidential financial information
