Lebanon School District is seeking a passionate, creative, and student-centered Long-Term Substitute Elementary Music Teacher to inspire young learners through engaging, meaningful musical experiences. In this role, you'll cultivate students' musical knowledge, creativity, and self-expression while fostering a joyful classroom environment where every child can discover the power of music.

This position will be from August 2026 to the first week of January 2027.

As our Elementary Music Teacher, you will:

• Create engaging, standards-based music lessons that inspire creativity, collaboration, and active participation.
• Develop students' musical knowledge through singing, movement, instrumental performance, listening, music literacy, and creative expression.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of all students.
• Plan and direct musical performances that celebrate student achievement and strengthen connections with families and the community.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into the broader educational experience and support student success.
• Use student assessment data to guide instruction and promote continuous academic and artistic growth.

• Bachelor's degree or Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification
• Elementary teaching experience preferred
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills

As a Long-Term Substitute Elementary Music Teacher, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Deliver engaging instruction aligned with the District curriculum and Pennsylvania Academic Standards.
• Develop weekly lesson plans and organize instructional time to provide a balanced program of music instruction, rehearsal, demonstration, and performance.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner.
• Utilize a diverse repertoire of traditional and contemporary music appropriate to students' age and skill levels.
• Assess student academic and social growth, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress with students and families.
• Create an inviting learning environment through engaging classroom displays, instructional materials, and hands-on learning experiences.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and administrators to support inclusive educational programs.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development and District initiatives.

This position serves students in an engaging elementary school setting where music plays an essential role in a well-rounded education. Responsibilities include leading classroom instruction, directing rehearsals and performances, collaborating with staff, supervising students, and maintaining music classrooms, instruments, and instructional resources. The position requires frequent standing, walking, speaking, hearing, and use of instructional technology. Employees regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
