American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift community hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic proficiency.

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a community hospital with fewer than 100 births per month
• Care for antepartum, low-risk labor and delivery, LDRP, mother/baby, and Level I nursery patients
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 or 4x12 hours (7pm-7am)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Blocked schedule option available
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• May care for COVID-positive patients

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) in hand with no license hits accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required; AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, EFM, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with high-risk OB conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and postpartum hemorrhage
• Proficient in IV therapy, administration of blood products, and maintaining central lines

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation and recovery, and newborn care
• Support antepartum monitoring including NSTs, OCTs, and sterile vaginal exams
• Assist with newborn procedures including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and discharge teaching
• Manage high-risk conditions such as HELLP syndrome, uterine rupture, and VBAC/trial of labor patients
• Provide postpartum care including lactation support, fundus checks, and wound assessment
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for standard travel pay rate; candidates within this radius will be offered a lower rate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract
• Travel pairs may be submitted together, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen and manager interview prior to placement
