What You'll Do
- Provide advanced patient care in cardiothoracic surgery on an urgent basis
- Support surgical staff during urgent procedures, including vein harvesting and other specialized techniques
- Cover approximately 3 weekends per month, with an average of 4 hours callback per day for rounding and patient management
- Collaborate with hospital teams to ensure seamless perioperative patient support
- Participate in patient assessments and post-operative follow-up in ICU and recovery units
- Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and communication
- Support patients aged 18 and above in a fast-paced hospital environment
What You Need
Required:- Valid PA License and DEA registration
- 3+ years' experience supporting cardiothoracic or urgent surgical cases
- Strong knowledge of perioperative care within a hospital setting
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts on weekends
- Acute care certification (not required)
- Proven ability to handle high-acuity, urgent surgical cases
About the Assignment This role involves providing critical cardiothoracic surgical support in a well-equipped hospital setting. The selected candidate will be integral to a dedicated team managing urgent procedures—from cath lab preparation to postoperative care—ensuring patients receive the highest quality support in a demanding yet rewarding environment.
