This position involves providing care to patients on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. Night shift is required, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekends may be needed on an every other weekend basis. Candidates will be reviewed for clinical fit. If successful, they will be sent for a final decision by the manager. Management will conduct interviews with selected candidates.
Candidates must hold current ACLS and BLS certifications. They will be expected to manage various patient care tasks. The unit may include stable open heart surgery patients transferred from ICU around day 4-5 post-op. Nurses will be required to float to other units as necessary, including those caring for stroke and dialysis patients. Additional duties may include caring for patients with respiratory illnesses, CHF exacerbations, and those in end-of-life care.
Candidates should be comfortable caring for COVID patients. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free. It is important to minimize requested time off to a maximum of 7 days. Nurses will engage with interdisciplinary support, including physical and respiratory therapy as well as social services. Patient ratios are approximately 5-6 patients per nurse during shifts.
