CMM Inspector

Pay: $25-30/hr. (depending on experience; can go higher for the right candidate)

Shift: 1st shift (M-TH 6a-4p) with OT on Friday

Job Summary

The CMM Inspector is responsible for meticulously inspecting various machined parts, fabrications, and weldments using multiple inspection methods and tools. All inspections must be performed in accordance with established written procedures and specifications. This position may also support additional work cells as needed while maintaining high inspection and quality assurance standards.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or vocational training in mechanical technology or a related trades area preferred
  • Two or more years of related experience in industrial, mechanical, or machining product inspection preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • CMM experience is required; MCOSMOS or similar
  • Ability to use inspection and measuring tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Experience with Faro Arm is ideal but not required.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed inspections on machined parts, fabrications, and weldments to verify compliance with specified dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards
  • Utilize inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
  • Follow written procedures and specifications to conduct inspections and accurately document results
  • Inspect castings, forgings, and weldments using visual and liquid penetrant inspection methods
  • Identify, document, and communicate non-conformities or deviations to appropriate personnel for resolution
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely and efficient inspection of finished and rough machine castings
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accurate measurements and compliance with quality standards
  • Provide inspection support in additional work cells as needed while maintaining quality standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection processes and procedures
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
