Position Summary

Cumberland University Health Services Clinic is seeking a reliable, organized, and welcoming Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff accessing campus health services. The ideal candidate is professional, personable, and able to manage a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and check in patients with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately
  • Schedule and manage appointments using the clinic’s electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Verify student eligibility, collect necessary documentation, and assist with forms
  • Maintain an organized front desk, lobby, and patient flow throughout the day
  • Support providers by preparing charts, updating patient information, and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Handle daily administrative tasks including filing and record management
  • Assist with billing processes, insurance verification, and payment collection as needed
  • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and university policies
  • Provide general information about clinic services, hours, and campus health requirements
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure a smooth, efficient, and student‑centered experience
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or healthcare coursework preferred
  • Prior experience in a medical office, clinic, or customer‑service role strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with computers and comfort learning EMR systems (Athena experience is a plus but not necessary)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure
  • Professional appearance, reliability, and a positive attitude
  • Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and excellent service
Schedule & Compensation
