The Construction Manager for highway and site construction oversees the entire construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified standards. Overnight travel is required. The position is available at our Paris or Nashville office.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. Develop project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Coordinating and directing field engineering and layout workers .
- Analyzing, managing, and mitigating risks associated with the project .
- Must be able to manage multiple contracts and be familiar with Gant charts and CPMs.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work closely with engineers and contractors to establish the requirements for the construction.
- Proficient in or ability to learn, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Microstation, Geopak, and Revit software.
- Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
- Preparing internal and external reports related to job status .
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with 10 years’ experience in the construction field. Preference given to those with a P.E., CCM or PMP certification, and CEI experience.
- OSHA
10 certification - Background working with DOT jobs, Federal contracts, subdivision layouts, shopping centers, and multi-story structures.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
- Valid driver’s license with clear driving record
Physical Requirements:
Work requires light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) on a continuous basis (over 50% of time); or moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on a frequent basis (up to 50% of time); or heavy physical exertion on an occasional basis (up to 15% of time).
Environmental Conditions:
Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements, may involve exposure to a variety of elements which are potentially hazardous or harmful which require exercise of well-defined precautions for protection from injury or illness.
