Systems Engineer
Sortera Technologies is searching for an Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team in Lebanon, Tennessee. This role focuses on troubleshooting complex embedded and industrial systems, minimizing downtime, and maximizing system stability and performance. You will support platform development and testing efforts while helping lead initiatives that improve uptime and operational reliability, including mentoring junior team members.
Essential Functions- Rapid Recovery:
Troubleshooting with on-call escalation to mitigate system failures, aimed at minimizing downtime and expediting recovery - Reliability of Sorting Platforms:
Maximize uptime of Clip and Twitch systems, focusing on the stability and performance of software/sensors/computers in the production environment - Leadership:
Lead and direct the daily activities of support staff in the ongoing improvement of uptime, development, and testing of our sorting technology platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of professional industrial experience
- 5+ years of experience with electronics (DAQ/DIO cards, logic probe, oscilloscope, multimeter, embedded controllers, sensors)
- 5+ years of experience with computer hardware (particularly multi-GPU, RAM, SSD, motherboards, power supplies, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience with operating systems installation and administration (Linux, Windows) and network connection and troubleshooting
- 5+ years of experience with C++ and Python and knowledge of creating drivers
- Some experience or knowledge of computer vision/robotics systems components (digital cameras, power supplies, etc.)

- Required to lift heavy computer equipment, climb on various parts of the sorting machines, work with electronic circuits and testing equipment
