System Administrator

Location: Onsite – Huntingdon, TN

Position Overview

MCPC is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to serve as the primary onsite IT contact for a manufacturing facility in Huntingdon, TN. This role will be responsible for supporting application, network, hardware, and software environments while ensuring high system availability and maximizing plant uptime. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a downtime-sensitive environment and can independently troubleshoot, resolve, and follow up on technical issues.

This is a contract-to-hire, onsite position supporting a critical production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for all onsite IT support needs, ensuring high levels of technology satisfaction
• Diagnose, isolate, and resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues and provide follow-up to end users
• Manage, maintain, and administer computer networks and related computing environments
• Support and execute special IT, business, and MES projects
• Administer, plan, and support infrastructure platforms including:
  • Velo Cloud SD-WAN
  • Palo Alto firewalls
  • Veeam backup solutions
  • Global Protect VPN
  • VMware environments and system conversions
• Perform system upgrades, replacements, and configuration updates in a downtime-sensitive and often remote environment
• Assist with site migrations, new site acquisitions, and site closures
• Provide desktop and server support and partner with site IT contacts as needed
• Administer and support Avaya telephone systems and camera systems
• Deploy and manage workstations, including hardware and software installations, upgrades, and maintenance
• Administer and maintain local server software applications
• Perform monthly server maintenance and routine system health checks
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, VPN, and timeclock issues
• Maintain and manage VPN connections and endpoint configurations
• Facilitate technology onboarding for new associates
• Communicate with internal clients in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality
• Travel to other company locations as required
• Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • Applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 6+ years of IT experience supporting mid- to large-cap organizations (approximately $500M+ environments preferred)
• Manufacturing or plant-floor IT experience preferred but not required
• Strong technical expertise in:
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Azure / Entra
  • Intune
  • Share Point
  • Power Automate
  • Networking and infrastructure technologies
• Availability to provide 24/7 on-call support as needed
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, Teams)
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and personalities
• Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
