Position: Outbound Manager (Night Shift)

Job Summary The Outbound Manager oversees the shipping department of the facility within their respective shift— including picking, packing, and indirect positions—focusing on quality, accuracy, and providing an excellent customer experience. Reporting directly to the Outbound Operations Manager, the Outbound Manager collaborates with Outbound managers on other shifts to ensure compliance with all protocols and SOPs, as well as the leadership team in Inbound and Inventory Control, to problem solve and meet operational directives.

The Outbound Manager is responsible for ensuring all employees reflect and embody Webstaurant Store’s core values, coaching and developing reports to meet clear expectations regarding behavior and production, and enforcing all company policies for fair employee treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations within the Outbound department (Picking, Consolidation, Packing, QA, and other indirect roles). Ensure the team consistently focuses on quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Train, coach, develop, and hold accountable up to X employees to meet operational metrics and distribution center needs.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics; identify and resolve operating issues as needed.
  • Provide clear, frequent communication to all teams regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Lead weekly and monthly meetings to review metrics, improvement areas, employee relations, and initiative updates.
  • Analyze opportunities for improvement (productivity growth, cost reduction, damage mitigation, process efficiency).
  • Ensure timely completion of all employee performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Interact with employees to promote engagement and ensure safety compliance.
  • Complete all admin duties related to employee management to expected standard.
  • Collaborate with leadership to meet DC needs and foster a team mentality.
  • Create development plans for employees, focusing on Team Leaders.
  • Maintain integrity, embody core values, and model them for employees.
  • Serve as leader for assigned department and the entire distribution center, holding peers, managers, and employees accountable.
  • Work while standing and/or walking up to 12 hours/day; communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing; use hands for simple grasping; bend, squat, crawl, climb, reach; lift, carry, push or pull medium weights up to 75 lbs.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant operations management experience; 2‑3 years outbound management preferred.
  • Experience in a distribution environment preferred.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Physical Requirements
